Polace Village in the National Park of Mljet will be reached by boat, captained by a person who is not only kind and informed but also professional and fluent in English. On this private full-day boat excursion departing from Dubrovnik, you will have the opportunity to explore the untamed landscapes of the Mljet National Park. Tour itinerary
In the morning meet with your driver at hotel lobby or in front of your accommodation, who will transfer you to the port where your boat is waiting for you.
Skipper will introduce himself to you and give you basic facts about the boat, current weather conditions, and safety instructions. On the navigation route, you will pass Dubrovnik and Elaphite Islands. There is the possibility to choose to stop on one of the Elaphite Islands, for swimming, snorkeling, or a short break or either to go directly to the Mljet. National Park Mljet is distanced around 40 nautical miles from Dubrovnik, it takes around 2 hours to get there skipper will recommend you the most convenient route and the possibility of short breaks considering weather and sea conditions for a voyage to Mljet
Big (croatian: Veliko) and Small lake (croatian: Malo Jezero) are the names of the two saltwater lakes that are located within the Mljet National Park (Large and Small Lake). Around 4 kilometers can be covered by the Lakes region. It is prohibited to bring a boat or drive a car into the park, and motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited. Children younger than 7 years old are admitted free of charge, while adults are required to pay an admission fee of 100 kunas, which is equivalent to 15 euros. Teenagers aged 7 to 18 years old are eligible for a discount of 50 percent. You can purchase tickets in Polache; the boat voyage to St. Mary Island costs an additional 20 kuna and takes 15 minutes. You are free to get off and back on the boat at any time; however, the boat only departs from Pristaniste once per hour. The Church of St. Mary on the Isle of St. Mary is the oldest church in Dalmatia that is still surviving. You can take a quick stop at the restaurant, where there is also a boat rental service, and then proceed to the smaller lake. Walking, cycling, swimming, snorkeling (you may borrow snorkeling gear from the boat), and paddling are all possible activities within lakes. It is suggested that you spend between two and three hours exploring the beauties of the lakes; make sure to let the skipper know when you will be returning to the boat or if there are any other requirements (restaurant booking, bicycle rent etc...).
If you are someone who enjoys fish and other types of seafood, you should make it a priority after visiting National Park with lakes on the island of Mljet to dine at one of the local restaurants that is waterfront located. Lobsters, sea bass, octopus, and mussels can be served in a variety of ways, including just grilling them, turning them into stews or soups, or preparing them in a variety of other ways.
In the afternoon, after lunch or your free time, you can return back to Dubrovnik via the Elaphites Islands. The rest of the time on the trip can be spent relaxing on the boat, swimming or snorkeling, or simply enjoying the sea and the sun. In the event that you have not yet explored the caves (Blue and Green on island Kolocep), you and the captain of the boat might make arrangements to use this time so that you can explore these natural attractions in the afternoon on your way back to Dubrovnik from Island Mljet.

Estimated time of arrival to Polace is 11:30. Once we arrive to the Polace gulf, once settled by Illyricum peoples, then conquered by Romans after rebellion and built the residential palace between 2nd and 5th century AD, nowadays in ruins reminds visitors of whom once Mljet was ruled by and berthed in small port sheltered behind tiny islands, skipper will escort you through Polace to the entrance of National Park Mljet. You can choose to take a shuttle service, rent a bikes / scooter or simple walk to the entrance of National Park (it takes about 40 minutes to walk).
Mljet National Park is large area with two salt water lakes - Veliko and Malo Jezero (Large and Small Lake). The Lakes area stretch for about 4 kilometres. No motor vehicles are allowed in park, and it is forbidden to enter with the boat there. Entrance fee is 100 kunas / 15 EUR for adults, children above 7 years old and teenagers up to 18 years have 50% discount, children less than 7 years old have free of charge entrance. Tickets can be buyed in Polache, boat ticket fee is extra 20 kunas extra for boat ride to the St. Mary Island (15 minutes ride) and you can hop off and on boat, but boat leaves from Pristaniste every hour. Island of St. Mary is so tranquil, oldest standing church in the Dalmatia. There is a restaurant where you can have a short break, than with the boat go to the small lake. Inside lakes you can walk, cycle, swim, snorkel (you can take snorkeling gear from the boat) or take kayaks. For afternoon we suggest that you have a lunch in some of local domestic konobas (taverns) in Polace. If you ask any Croatian from Dalmatia, it is special place in the everyday lives. Our recommendation is that you book seating in restaurant in advance, we can do it for you on the tour check in without any obligations.

At first, the difference is in the size of the boat, which represents how many people feel comfortable on such a boat to enjoy the sea. Then, if you are not already familiar, the ships have different equipment and designs.
Most medium-class boats are with outboard motors up to 6.5 meters long. Then come high-class boats with inboard engines, which is not necessarily the case.
The biggest difference between medium and high-class boats is in the equipment and design. The high-class speedboat is mostly sporty and recommended for up to 4 people, while the medium class is recommended for 2 people.
Executive boats are 8-9 meters in size, newer years with outboard or inboard engines, but all have toilets. In the Executive class of boats, we are talking about luxury speedboats of recent years with a lot of equipment and an attractive appearance.
Motor yachts are 9 - 11 meters long, with a saloon, flybridge, kitchen, and stern for swimming. Executive motor yachts are 11 - 14 meters long, but more recently built.

Amazing speedboat tour!
We had the most amazing day touring the Elaphiti islands with Frano! Super chilled and friendly, he was happy to go/do whatever we wanted to on the day, taking us to some amazing places to swim and snorkel such as the blue and green caves, as well as booking us into a lovely restaurant for lunch. It was amazing to lie on the back of the speedboat as we went between each destination, catching the sun and enjoying the views. He also had stocked up the fridge with plenty of water to keep us hydrated and some cold beers too! We’d really recommend this tour to anyone, my partner booked this as a belated anniversary present for us and we had an unforgettable day!

A truly Wonderful, fun and special day
From start to end, the island tour was wonderful. Frano and his team of skippers were so attentive and responsive and answered all my many queries! The boat was perfectly clean and had everything you would need. We visited some gorgeous bays, coves and caves and we stopped for lunch at Bowa, on Frano’s recommendation. It really was a special experience. We were celebrating a birthday and a special moment and it was just a perfect day. Highly recommended.
